Hello.. Finding meaning and purpose for life would be totally individual as well as unique. These purposes of life comes through various experiences an individual gains from his life. As you said without any purpose life becomes hollow, and that is were many a times people come across existential crisis, where person is left with no meaning to his/her life.

What is your why?

Finding a purpose or meaning in Life gradually leads the individual to find HIS/HER PURPOSE AND MEANING OF LIVING.

There is no actual scientifically proven method on how you can know your purpose of living, But through experience, Yoga, Or performing Various spiritual activities/religious activities it is seen that people generally finds meaning and purpose of living.

But As I said, it’s totally individualistic and subjective there will be number of different opinions as well experiences where people have found their purpose/ meaning of life. What’s your hobby? Singing, dancing, playing guitar, painting, talking, being with loved ones etc. Whatever you like. There is term in japan i.e. “Ikigai” which focuses on how to live in which where 4 main type of reasons collide: If you are interested then watch videos on ikigai on youtube.

There is also “Flow” state in which You get yourself involved in that and loose the track of time! This answer is totally subjective on my point of view but We all have taken birth on planet Earth with purpose, The main purpose of life is

To complete the give and take Selfless service to mankind

To spread the knowledge of truth….

To help eachother grow spiritually…

Also I would add, You will get the answer!

Reason : At first place people lack the quality of asking right questions, Now as you have asked the question, Just wait and be receptive. Universe will answer you…via someone, some book, some Guru, some thing..

Let the Universe Manifest the Answer in front of You!

Live your life in your own unique way & sayonara… I hope this helps :)
